G5 Technologies was setup by our founding director Steve Brand,
Steve always loved computers. His 1st computer was a Spectrum ZX81 (if you’re too young, or too cool to know, that’s a really old computer, and it was the first one his family owned).
As the years went by, the computers got more sophisticated, and his obsession grew. Any free time Steve had was spent either using a computer or learning about them. He even built his own and used to build computers to order for friends and family.
When the internet became commonplace, Steve’s interest in IT deepened.
After studying at college in Dundee, Steve started off working as a desktop support analyst at BP’s Aberdeen headquarters in Dyce and rolled out Windows 95. He then spent some time at Shell in both their Aberdeen and London offices.
Problem solving, creative solutions, seeing the difference he was making to the employees of the companies he worked with was so rewarding.
One day, he realised that he needed to go and do this for myself. To find his own clients and help them in the same way, to really make a difference to what they did.
In 2004, G5 Technologies was formed. Since 2004 we’ve grown in exactly the way Steve had hoped for. It’s not just Steve anymore, we now have a team of dedicated IT support technicians who support a broad range of businesses in the area that see us as a trusted IT support partner.
