The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) comes into effect on the 25th May 2018.
If you provide free Wi-Fi to your customers you will have to ask for consent to collect and store their personal data before they can use the service. You could be fined up to 4% of your turnover if you don’t!

What does this mean?
The terms & conditions for your Wi-Fi service need to be very clear on what data you are collecting, the reasons why, your intended usage of such data and the ability for the public to opt-in for any marketing, as well as providing them clear instructions on how they can opt-out at any time.

We have been contacting all of our clients to ensure that they know that their login page is compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation.  If you have a G5Zone login page then our standard T&Cs on the page are currently in line with the proposed GDPR framework. If you don’t have a login page set up then we will be in touch to ensure you are ready for 25th May 2018.
